Google announces a new snooze feature for its Inbox by Gmail app allowing users to set timers on emails for more appropriate dates

PictureGoogle announced today a new and useful snooze tool for it’s Inbox by Gmail app. The new feature allows users to set the date and time of important emails that will reappear on more relevant dates.The new feature makes it incredible easy to access emails that contain time-specific information such as event tickets, travel confirmations and online shipping and tracking information. 

Vijay Umapathy, Product Manager of Gmail announced in a blog post:
Starting today, Snooze in Inbox is getting a bit more convenient—when you snooze an email that has dates and times (like event confirmations or shipping notifications), you’ll get a one-tap option to snooze to exactly the right time, like the day of your concert or the morning your package will arrive.

  • Package tracking updates
  • Restaurant and event reservations
  • Calendar invites
  • Flight confirmations
  • Hotel reservations
  • Rental car reservations

Google launched Inbox by Gmail in October of 2014 and continues to evolve with user feedback. The new snooze feature is a positive step forward for Google’s goal of migrating users away from Gmail into their new Inbox app.
