A massive fire has engulfed the roof of the 19th Century basilica of Saint-Donatien in the French city of Nantes Monday morning.According to local authorities, the fire is believed to have been accidentally started by two rooftop workers performing maintenance. The blaze reportedly broke out at 10:30 local time (08:30 GMT) after the cathedral’s morning mass.
Around 40 firefighters and an aircraft were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the flames. Everyone inside the cathedral was evacuated and no injuries have been reported.
