The 3-Pitch Inning: Known pitchers to have accomplished this feat

PicturePhoto: Walter Johnson, known to have thrown the most three-pitch innings in MLB history.Thee-pitch innings, an interesting feat for pitchers in the game of baseball that remains tentatively documented and widely unknown to this day. Pitch counts have never been recorded for the purpose of protecting the careers of pitchers, making it rather difficult to establish a definitive list of those who have thrown 3-pitch innings. However, baseball historians and various sports publications have been able to piece together what they know, which we documented below.

That being said, this data set remains a work in progress and we encourage those who can expand on this list do so in the comments box below. There are two spreadsheets, one for the American League and National League. In addition, we have listed the pitchers who have thrown more than one 3-pitch inning and the MLB teams with the most known 3-pitch innings.
